VIDEO: Small-scale farming families hope to return to their land

In the slum of a dusty town called Curumaní, in the department of Cesar, 25 farming families have lived for nearly three years after being displaced from Pitalito. They do not have access to land and therefore cannot grow crops. Nor is there alternative employment for these families who have always worked the fields.

Women human rights defenders speak out: Claudia Julieta Duque

Claudia Julieta Duque is a correspondent in Colombia for the Internet Radio channel Nizkor, dedicated to human rights advocacy. Duque was one of the journalists illegally monitored by the former state intelligence agency, the Department of Administrative Security (DAS).
