PBI Colombia’s primary objectives

  • To contribute to an improvement in the human rights situation in Colombia through the protection of organisations and individuals that defend human rights as well as displaced and returned communities, and in this way support the construction of lasting peace in Colombia.
  • To sensitize the Government and Colombian authorities as well as the international community about both the human rights situation and the situation of human rights defenders. 
  • To increase the visibility of the human rights situation and the work carried out by human rights organisations. 
  • To strengthen accompanied organisations’ capacity for self-protection, facilitating a process of reflection and the development of protection strategies, as well as supporting their work in the reconstruction of the social fabric.
